J. L. Curtis Fellowship Program
Jay Curtis was one of the founding fathers of the Idaho State Fire School and was always a strong supporter of firefighter training in Idaho. He was very instrumental in organizing the first Fire School in Twin Falls in 1947. Jay spent many years participating as a vendor, instructor, and sponsoring various events at the school. Prior to his death in 1988, Jay never missed the annual State Fire School. To continue Jay's legacy, L .N. Curtis and Sons is proud to sponsor the:
Jay L. Curtis Fellowship Program.
This program is a unique opportunity for firefighters from smaller volunteer fire departments throughout the State of Idaho who may have limited funds available for training to send an individual to State Fire School. This year three individuals will be selected to attend the school with his/her registration and motel expenses paid for by L.N. Curtis and Sons. To be eligible for selection, please submit a brief letter by May 30th, 2011 stating why this individual deserves to be sponsored and any associated accomplishments the individual has demonstrated to advance his/her training. Please include the individual's or department chief's phone number in this letter. The individuals will be selected from the three regions of the State of Idaho (Northern, Southwest, and Southeast).
Individuals selected will be notified no later than June 5th, 2011.
